1.) Vacuum regularly to avoid a build-up of dirt and dust.

2.) Once liquid residue evaporates, dirt will be left behind. After a floor has been treated with cl) eaner, always dry with a towel or terry cloth to remove that residue.

3.) Avoid using soap-based cleaners on tiles. It can leave behind a film, dulling the surface and encouraging mildew.

4.) Avoid using cleaners containing acid, such as vinegar. They can dull marble tiles.

5.) Avoid using steel wool or other abrasives on tile or stone.

6.) Avoid expensive remodeling by inspecting joints regularly for cracks, mold, and mildew. Be aware of the areas generally exposed to water (kitchen back splashes, tub & shower joints). These cracks can eventually lead to water damage. Water can travel below the tile and ruin the base (usually a supporting wall or sub-floor). In that case, it may be necessary to re-caulk in order to properly seal grout and tile.
